Is the new Act of construction law of Hungary a real game changer?

Well, if you were ever thinking about this, then probably you already know the answer. The new act of law on construction which has been recently published in the Hungarian Official Journal is not a totally new piece of act: it is basically the compilation of the former construction law, one part of the act on listed buildings and the former legal regulation of the chamber of architects.

There are some new elements though: the act stipulates a new rule for the local authorities, that there must be a 500 meters "puffer zone" around the towns where raising new buildings can not be permitted. However, the aim is good, but there are some voices though who are saying that this rule can not be kept, because there are numerous cities that are not meeting this requirement even today.

The other new element of the act that it restructures the organisation of the authorities who are giving out the permissions for constructional activities: to a slightly more complicated version.

Will it be better for the citizens? Well this is a question of time.
